My letter to the SF Chronicle:

Dear Editor:

Ellis Hospital used a toxic substance around the most vulnerable of our society because they viewed it as a cheap way of eliminating a "problem", i.e. the presence of some of God's creatures.

By worsening the health of already-ailing people, not to mention their own employees, visitors, and others having business at the facility, Ellis Hospital has generated more business for itself. Blue Cross, other insurance companies, patients, and other victims, must be thrilled at all the extra money they will now be expected to cough up for services necessitated by Ellis Hospital's misconduct.

Rather than address the pigeon population with a constructive non-deadly approach, Ellis Hospital has made abundantly clear its contempt for living beings, and its worship of the Almighty Dollar.

To top it off, I have no doubt that the government, in its typical Mafia fashion, will at most just cut another sweetheart deal with the hospital making a modest payoff to the government, a/k/a “a fine”, with none of those responsible going to jail where they belong.

Sincerely,

Terry L. Clark
