Letter to The Salina [Kansas] Journal by Randy & Sharon Lister, published January 18, 2007:

Faults found at home

Now that Saddam Hussein is gone I was wondering if the rest of the pieces are going to fall into place. Sure, Saddam did some horrific things to his own people, killing 148 Shiite people after they tried killing him first.

But is that any worse than the crimes of Bush, Cheney or Rumsfeld? Just look at Hurricane Katrina and how many people died out of sheer neglect and mismanagement -- at least 1,836 (they were Louisianans). It’s amazing how quickly they were to react to getting the Bin Laden family out of America to save their lives but how slowly they were to react to Katrina to save American lives. They have sent over 3,000 Americans to their death over the World Trade Center fiasco that we all know Saddam had absolutely nothing to do with.

I guess the question is when do we stop having trials and hanging leaders over crimes against humanity? Or is the word I’m looking for "start"?
