Getting A Straight Answer Out Of Your Pet Food Manufacturer
Please feel free to use, with or without attribution, the letter below, in order to try to get a straight answer out of the manufacturer of the pet food you use.
My email to Nutro, http://www.nutroproducts.com/contact.html, which illustrates the non sequitur on several manufacturers' websites:
Dear Nutro:
Your website http://www.nutroproducts.com states:
No dry Nutro pet foods, biscuits or treats are impacted by this matter and no other canned or pouch products are subject to this recall. Nutro's dry dog and dry cat foods are produced at Nutro's company owned manufacturing sites in Tennessee and California.
Please advise:
Do any of the dry Nutro pet food products contain any ingredient from Menu Foods, whether purchased directly or indirectly?
Do any of the dry Nutro pet food products contain any wheat product imported from any other country, including but not limited to China?
Besides responding to my email, please Post your answers on the main page of your website.

Please notice that Nutro avoided answering Terri's question.. ie: "Do any of the dry Nutro pet food products contain any wheat product imported from any other country, including but not limited to China?"
IMO they didn't answer because their food DOES include Chinese imports or some from other third-world countries. I have a Schipperke who barfed every time she ate out of one bag of Nutro-Max when she had eaten it for years.. this was at the end of Feb.2007.. They are not being honest with us.
Nutro never did respond to my email except to put me on their email list--which, as with their website, still doesn't give straight answers.
One of our dogs started having problems with Nutro Lamb & Rice dry (threw up, lack of appetite). Switched him to Solid Gold's WHEAT-FREE "Wolf King", and he's happy/eating again. Coincidence? Maybe, but I won't risk his (or the others) life on it.
