Demonizing Homeland Defenders

Letter to the editor of various publications which, to my knowledge, has yet to see print. Sent to coincide with the 4th Of July festivities, in which the corporate media makes sure we're too busy stuffing our faces and watching cool light shows to think about what the [bleep] we're celebrating, where and how we started, or how we have become far worse than what we rebelled against 231 years ago.

Dear Editor,

In recent weeks, mass-market newspapers have taken to a constant drumbeat asserting that attacks in Iraq are "linked" to al-Qaeda.

What these articles fail to mention is that the "linkage" is but the latest lie of the Bu$h Regime that has been swallowed whole by the same media that CONvinced a significant percentage of the American people that Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11.

The latest articles fail to point out that the people of Iraq are sick and tired of an occupying power that has killed over 650,000 of their fellow citizens, maiming millions more, in order to turn over Iraqi oil to the multinational oil cartel. Disgusted with the widespread use of depleted uranium that will continue to mutate, eventually and mercifully kill, millions of human beings in the years to come. As with Vichy France, those fighting for the liberation of Iraq take a dim view of collaborators. And as with America during its Revolutionary War, the people of Iraq are willing to form alliances with those they might otherwise have serious differences with in order to obtain freedom from an empire abroad.

The creation of the USA began with fighting a mentally disturbed King by the name of George who sought to subjugate a nation. Today we find ourselves ruled by a demented President who has asserted powers far beyond those of a mere King, also by the name of George, who likewise seeks to plunder far beyond his shores.
