Most III

"Most whites in the US, mid-19th century believed slavery would never end in this country because it a) was natural, b) was ordained by God and supported by ample Biblical precedent, c) had existed since the dawn of time, d) was necessary economically, and e) could be ended only by an unlikely improvement in our moral natures. One tires hearing these arguments from homophobes and meat eaters."
