Blood Sugar: Protein/Veggies First

An excellent article from Dr. M on the importance of consuming protein/veggies before carbs. This should be helpful to non-diabetics who want to avoid becoming diabetic.

STORY AT-A-GLANCE [Excerpts]

Eating carbohydrates last is best and may reduce insulin and glucose levels compared to consuming them first.

In a study, total glucose decreased by 38% when protein and vegetables were consumed first, compared to a carbs-first meal.

What You Eat First During Meals Can Lower Glucose by 40%

ADDENDUM:

Dr M moves some of his articles to his paywall/Members Only section on his Substack site 48 or so hours after he Posts them. The ones about the boogeybug it's safe to assume will be moved at 48 hours; other articles it's not so clear.

I had not expected the one on controlling blood sugar to be placed behind Dr M's paywall, and if so certainly not as fast as it was.  The key point is covered in the quoted part, but c'mon, we can save the world AND pay the bills.

If you put the title of the Dr M article in quotation marks and Google it, you can find it that way without having to fork over five bucks.
