Telegram's Curious Notion Of "Free Speech"

How do the people running Telegram determine which accounts are "Fake" or unworthy of being allowed to exist?

RT, or Russia Today, which is still on Facebook, is banned by Telegram.

Meanwhile, the Bu$h League Times, and the CIA Post. are allowed to continue to spew their rampant Disinformation.

I'd take RT over the BLT or CIAP any day of the week.

I did some searching to see if there is a workaround and found one relevant article. While it might have worked when the article was written, going into Settings and disabling Filtering had no effect.

Yes, RT can be accessed via Gab and elsewhere. Ideally, RT would have an email list--which I much prefer to having to remember which sites/pages to look up--but they don't at this time.

Certainly, Telegram's blocking of RT and asserting that some never-named or even described "local law" has been violated, contradicts its professed commitment to free speech.
