"Bulletproof" Backpacks, Defenseless Children

What in the world do parents believe that government indoctrination camps provide that is so important that they are sending their children into a situation so dangerous that they purchase a semi-bulletproof backpack (if you read the article, the things don't actually provide much "protection") to give their offspring a minor improvement in the odds of returning home alive that day?

If the parent concludes the "schools" are the equivalent of wartime free-fire combat zones, then they should do something meaningful. Occupy the "schools", take over the school boards, throw the prison administration out otherwise, and in the meantime refuse to send their child into harm's way!
