An Illustration Of Why Most Class Action Lawsuits Suck

My wife loved streaming services, and was very particular about what she watched. Yes there was occasional junk food for the brain, but for the most part she preferred the mentally stimulating, the well-written. Material based on works from the 19th Century and earlier were usually a “Let’s see what they did with this”. “Penny Dreadful” is one such example.

Which leads to why I was able to File a Claim in the AMC+ privacy violation Class Action Lawsuit.

Today I received, in the snailmail, a check from a separate Class Action involving Peacock TV, for a whopping $11.52. Oh yeah, that’s gonna teach NBC/Peacock/etc etc a lesson alright.

The AMC+ payoff, however, is for…more AMC+. Yeah, the company you can’t trust with your information, and as a result you might well not want anything to do with in the future, has to give you a week of free service if you accept--and there’s no cash option, so it’s “take it or leave it”.

That will cost AMC practically nothing, except for paying off the Class Action Attorneys who, let me guess, aren’t going to take AMC+ service in payment. No baby, they’re gonna get cold hard cash. Digital, perhaps, but something they can buy food with.

At least with the Peacock check, I can get my cat a couple days of quality food. She has no interest in watching AMC+, however.

This reminds me of the infamous Micro$oft Class Action settlement, where the payout for getting screwed and going to the time and trouble of making a claim was a discount on your next purchase of a Micro$oft product.

Besides illustrating the Class Action Scam, it also illustrates The Uniparty Scam. With a few rare exceptions, such as John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy Sr., Sonny Bono, Paul Wellstone, and a few others, it doesn’t matter what color jersey your hero wears if they’re all on the same team. The American Judicial System has, whichever puppets are in power, been steadily disintegrating over the decades, especially the past fifty years. (As for Trump 2.0, I remain an agnostic, as covered in other Posts, and I will continue to cover both the good and the real damn ugly).

The full email regarding the AMC payoff is below in case anyone is anyone is interested. It doesn’t particularly add anything to the above.
