"Trust Our Government"

Letter to The Salina [Kansas] Journal, August 29, 2006, from a resident of Abilene, Kansas, whose name has I have omitted because he is just symbolic of the brainwashing going on in this country:

Trust our government

Warrantless surveillances are unconstitutional, says federal judge A.D. Taylor.

Judicial fiat precluding the execution of various methods of obtaining information to thwart those who would do America great harm is unconscionable.

Prevention does provide hope as seen just a few days ago in England. I would wager there were a few "warrantless surveillances" used to bring this "close one" to its necessary conclusion.

Do we not have enough trust in those who operate under governmental authority to use common sense and differentiate between titillating conversations and those contemplating terrorist attacks?

There are laws to deal with those who would abuse the authority under which they operate.

President Bush is not perfect, but those entities that wish to destroy him, whether they are members of the media, Congress or the judiciary, do America a great disservice and place her in grave jeopardy by preventing any measure he may deem necessary for the safety of America

And if there are laws to deal with those who would abuse their authority, such as the U.S. Constitution, they should be ignored.

Trust the government to distinguish between titillating and important? how sad is the lack of collective memory. It hasn't been that many years since J. Edgar Hoover built an empire based on the titillating, the scandalous, the embarrassing.

"Any measure he may deem necessary"? I thought we got rid of King George. Oh wait, that was a mere King. Today we have Reich Chancellor Bu$h. Never mind.
