Casino Gambling: Eerie Parallels

Methamphetamine proponents have been unsuccessfully trying to push expanded methamphetamine use through the Kansas legislature for years.

State Senator Pete Brungardt from Salina says this upcoming session could be the year for meth. "The longer it is around, and the more people get comfortable and familiar with it and the more they understand that it is not organized crime and it is not massive suffering of the populace, the more they kind of come to grips with. For example, meth is part of our everyday life now. You don't see lots of harm form it."

Brungardt says admittedly there is a lot of money spent on the meth, but it helps the state and people seem to enjoy it. He says the same could be said for heroin.
