Seymour M. Hersh: Is the Administration’s new policy benefitting our enemies in the war on terrorism?

Great must-read article by investigative reporter Sy Hersh in the New Yorker about how the U.S. is funding the people we are creating a police state to defend against.

Tim Dickinson over at Rolling Stone boiled it down to one concise sentence: "The criminal stupidity of treating the enemy of our enemy as our friend, when the enemy of our enemy is the enemy that attacked us on 9/11, is nearly impossible to overstate."

Let us not forget that the U.S., in order to oust the Soviet Union from Afghanistan, bankrolled and armed OBL in the late 70's and 80's, then lost interest and let things grow from there.
