Who's Prosecuted, Who's Not

Democracy Now reported, June 25, 2007:

Iraqi Court Hands Down Death Sentences in Kurdish Chemical Attack

In other Iraq news, the Iraqi High Tribunal has sentenced Ali Hassan al-Majid and two others to death. They were convicted of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes for ordering the use chemical weapons against Kurds during the Iran-Iraq War. al-Majid, who was nicknamed Chemical Ali, was a cousin of former president Saddam Hussein.

My email to Democracy Now:

Meanwhile, Donald Rumsfeld and other US government officials, equally responsible for the use of chemical warfare on the Kurds and others, remain free.

Or is that yet another Inconvenience that DN lacks the ability to speak truth to?

One can lie through omission just as blatantly as one can lie through commission.
