Rolling Stone: All The News That Fits The Corporations Wishes

Rolling Stone's National Affairs department, once the domain of Hunter S. Thompson, had
a lively thread today on MoveOn's ad objecting to General Petraeus.

Well, it *was* lively, until they decided to pull the plug on truth.

Three of my Postings have been yanked.

Hunter must be rolling over in his grave.

What does Rolling Stone want to protect you from?

Pay No Attention To What Is Plainly Before Your Eyes

Monkeying With The Death Toll

The "Get Over It" Refrain

This should come as no surprise. As Frank Zappa observed:

"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way, and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theatre."

Apparently Rolling Stone has concluded that it's curtains for America.
