Gun/Population Control

If we had a real mass media in this country that served the masses, that media would have already answered the following questions:

Did mass shootings dramatically decline under President Trump?

Or did such tragedies also occur under President Trump in comparable numbers? But that under President Trump, they weren't being hyped 24/7 as pretexts for population control, a/k/a "gun control", since President Trump wasn't about to deprive the rights of all due to the actions of an extremely few?
