Lead story on tonight's "Entertainment Tonight": Katie Couric preparing to syrupify what was once known as the CBS Evening News, and her tour of the US.
Followed by a segment on Johnny Depp's "Pirates" movie. Later in the show, a segment of similar earth-shattering significance, Nicole Kidman, n/k/a Nicole Urban.
In one sense, it's sad that Uncle Walter lived long enough to see what has become of his network. On the other hand, perhaps Walter will speak out and educate those too young to remember, and those intellectually numbed by the glowing blue orb of pap and submission, of the potential of television to communicate useful information.
