Importing Sand
An interesting item in today's Salina [Kansas] Journal:
Once Saline County runs out of sand, importing from Alsop plants in Abilene or Concordia become the next most viable options, Barclay said. Doing that would cost Saline County taxpayers $1.5 million a year if the sand comes from Abilene and $3.5 million if it comes from Concordia, he said.

Why not import it from the Middle East? Heck, we're surrendering out country, our future, to the multinational oil cartel, why not add sand to the list too?
