HerrGoobernator: You Vill Fight For The Fatherland

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced early Wednesday he had vetoed legislation that would have allowed Californians to vote on an advisory measure calling for President Bush to immediately withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq.

"Placing a nonbinding resolution on Iraq on the same ballot, when it carries no weight or authority, would only further divide voters and shift attention from other critical issues that must be addressed."

Yeah, like killing off the most vulnerable:


Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today signed the nearly two-month overdue state budget that included $703 million worth of line-item vetoes that he promised to Senate Republicans as part of a deal to gain their support to approve the state's spending plan.

The largest chunk of the spending cuts - about $300 million - come from Medi-Cal, which
provides health insurance to the state's needy residents.

Perhaps the most contentious cut is the elimination of $55 million for services to homeless adults with serious mental illnesses.
