Matt Taibbi On Censorship, Self- And External

Another excellent article from Matt Taibbi, covering three important related subjects:

1) How some are being herded into self-censorship.

2) Applying George Orwell's “1984” to our present circumstances. I read "1984" around fifty years ago, and is one of the few books I do plan to read a second time, especially in light of events and what I have learned over the past half-century.

3) What was gleaned from The Twitter Files. While the series is on my list of things to read, there is much to read in those 19 articles, and I have had to focus on other matters. Matt's summary is no substitute for reading the entire series, but it helps until time does permit to get to those articles.

On his Substack Page, Matt provides a short summary of each Twitter Files installment, accompanied by a Link to Matt's Twitter Posting for that installment. But to read the article on Twitter, which even on that series limited the number of characters per posting. Thus, instead of a single article, you're stuck going through the "Comments" where the rest of the story is parceled out.

So the best strategy is to read Matt's summaries, then read the assembled articles other than on Twitter.

I would not be doing any favors by attempting to excerpt highlights from Matt's article, Linked below. It merits a full reading.
