How Stupid ARE Judges and Juries--And The Public?

From KSAL Radio, Salina, Kansas, June 8, 2006:

The discovery of a large amount of marijuana by the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force led to the arrest of a Hutchinson man in Salina late Wednesday night.

Task Force Commander Lt. Mike Sweeney says that after receiving a tip that a vehicle with drugs in it was enroute to a west Salina night club, officers met 25-year-old Juan Garcia as he arrived at the Wild Wild West Gentlemen's Club on West Highway 40. After a drug dog hit on Garcia's car, officers received a consent to search.

They found fifteen pounds of marijuana in the car, along with 15.7 grams of cocaine on Garcia. Sweeney says that the total street value of the drugs seized is estimated at $20,000.

Garcia was booked into the Saline County Jail on numerous possible felony drug charges. Hutchinson police later found another four pounds of marijuana at Garcia's home.

19 pounds of pot, and we're expected to believe that he knowingly and intelligently gave up his Constitutional Rights? "Sure officer, go ahead, I don't mind". Maybe they're feeding Judges & Juries pot, along with hallucinogenics in their drinking water?

And stories like this are reported all the time with a straight face by the corporate press while the general public obliviously say, "yup, that's what happened, yessiree".
