167 Cases Of Death Following Taser Use

My earlier Post on the death of a 5-month-old fetus due to the mother being Tasered brought an email questioning whether the officer had reason to know a Taser could reasonably be expected to kill the fetus.

Duh, yes.

The Arizona Republic did a well-researched investigative report, documenting 167 deaths due to Tasers between September 28, 1999, and December 29, 2005. All those deaths make clear that if healthy adults can die at the hands of a Taser--like the woman in my earlier Post, often repeatedly Tasered--then a developing unborn child is likewise going to be no match for 50,000 volts.
