Those "Out Of Control" Iranians

All the hysteria over Iranian nuclear power, and the calls for U.N. inspectors, raises an interesting question: Do U.N. inspectors keep tabs on the U.S.? On the "black budget" projects? Do they pay surprise visits on GE nuclear plants that bring horrible death to life? (When's the last time Ubermann talked about his employer killing people for profit?). Do they check buried toxic waste sites to see if they are in fact secure?

Or do "the rules" not apply to the rulers?

CONgressional Priorities

An almost-exclusively White coup d'état, with a couple token blacks to con the international community and take advantage of liberal white guilt, takes over the US. It launches a war for oil and empire, murders over a million brown-skinned people, trashes the Geneva Conventions, sends the US economy off the cliff, finishes destroying the US industrial base...and it gets fully funded by CONgress with Impeachment "off the table".

But get a few yahoos caught being stupid on suspiciously-edited set-up video that shows up first on Faux, and all Hell breaks loose with CONgress whipping into action to stop that uppity predominantly black-skinned organization:

The House has just voted to 345-75, to cut off all federal funding to ACORN -- using a procedural trick to force a vote on an amendment.

Limbaugh: We need segregated buses

In a remark extraordinary even by the standards of conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, the right-wing radio heavyweight declared on his program Wednesday that the United States needed to return to racially segregated buses.

Referring to an incident in which a white student was beaten by black students on a bus, Limbaugh said: “I think the guy’s wrong. I think not only it was racism, it was justifiable racism. I mean, that’s the lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid shouldn’t have been on the bus anyway. We need segregated buses — it was invading space and stuff. This is Obama’s America.”

A full transcript of Limbaugh’s comments on his radio show is available at MediaMatters.org .

Limbaugh’s comments came after a called complained to say that local law enforcement said the attack probably wasn’t racially motivated. The incident had been hyped by the conservative Drudge Report, which posted a video of the fracas.

“Police initially said the beating of the white student by two black students appeared to be racially motivated,” the Associated Press wrote. “But police on Tuesday backed away from that.”

That didn’t stop Limbaugh from making his comments Wednesday.

“In Obama’s America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, ‘Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,” Limbaugh also said . “I wonder if Obama’s going to come to come to the defense of the assailants the way he did his friend Skip Gates up there at Harvard.”

The Wilson Distraction

We're getting *way* too distracted by these cartoon buffoons, Joe Wilson, Joe The Plumber, Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, etc. etc.

The march toward fascism continues unabated, the corporate media marching in lockstep keeping us focused on the inane.

How many children died of cancer today in Iraq due to the actions of this nation of war criminals using depleted uranium, a policy that continues unabated under "Mr. Change"? Likewise, how many children in Afghanistan continue to be charred shadows of their former selves due to America's use there of white phosphorus?

Lost in all this is the fact that the corporate media continues to stir up hatred against immigrants. Were Jesus to return today, I wonder if that dark-skinned man would agree that dark-skinned people who cross invisible lines ("borders") should be demonized and treated like the Undesirables of 70-some years ago. Some "Christian Nation" we live in.

Slaughtering Hearts And Minds

Citizens For Legitimate Government reports:

U.S. eyes military equipment in Iraq for Pakistan 09 Sep 2009 The Pentagon has proposed transferring U.S. military equipment from Iraq to Pakistani security forces to 'help' Islamabad step up its offensive against the Taliban, according to officials and government documents. The Pentagon request for the authority to "transfer articles no longer needed in Iraq" to the army of Pakistan received a cool reception in the U.S. Congress. [Gee, if the *equipment* goes, is it not logical to assume that the *people* (mercenaries, soldiers) who *operate* the equipment will soon follow?]

Churchill

Winston Churchill published a newspaper article. It was February 8, 1920. Churchill had a different enemy now. Now his enemy wasn't Germany, it was the "sinister confederacy" of international Jewry.

"This movement among the Jews is not new," Churchill said. It was a "world-wide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilisation and for the reconstruction of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality." He listed Marx, Trotsky, Béla
Kun, Rosa Luxemberg, and Emma Goldman as some of the malefactors. The conspiracy had been, he said, the "mainspring of every subversive movement during the Nineteenth Century." It had played a recognizable part in the French Revolution. All loyal Jews, he advised, must "vindicate the honour of the Jewish name" by rejecting international bolshevism.

Debilitating The Troops

Citizens For Legitimate Government reports:

Defense Department to Start Mandatory H1N1 Flu Vaccinations 01 Sep 2009

All military personnel will be vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus, and the vaccine will be available to all military family members who want it, a Defense Department health affairs official said today. The H1N1 vaccination program will begin in early October, said Army Lt. Col. (Dr.) Wayne Hachey, director of preventive medicine for Defense Department health affairs. The vaccine, which has been licensed [!] by the Food and Drug Administration, will be mandatory for uniformed personnel, the colonel said. "What we want to do is target those people who are at highest risk for transmission," he said.
